A key research activity of CSCR is its
leadership of benchmarking consortia across a number of supply
chain areas. Members benefit from sharing quantitative and
qualitative data to improve their processes and operations. Each
group meets two to three times per year to share best practices
at different host locations. Currently, there are four active
consortiums that concentrate in the areas of Global Trade
Compliance, Customer Service, Sales and Operations Planning, and
Transportation processes related to the field of logistics and
supply chain management. |

CAPS
Research (with Arizona State University) |
CAPS Research benchmarking
activities are designed to support supply management
organizations. Benchmarking programs include:
Industry-specific benchmarking to compare supply management
business practices to other organizations within the same
industry sector.
Cross-Industry reports include standard metrics that are used
across all industry sectors and published twice a year.
Each of the four Market Baskets of Goods reports provide
comparative information on actual prices paid for MRO Goods,
Office Products, IT Goods and Services, and Print Services.
These reports include average and median prices, as well as the
lowest and highest prices reported for each item and the percent
of companies who reported they purchased items as specifically
identified or equivalent items.
Finally, the Focused benchmarking reports are structured as
on-demand surveys, and the reports have included topics as
diverse as investment recovery, supplier diversity, eProcurement,
and shared services centers.
